Rey Ann Garcia-Mills
Director / Teacher

Rey Ann has been teaching in and directing Montessori schools for the past 30 years, and has helped open several Montessori programs on both the East and West Coasts. She is American Montessori Society (AMS) trained, receiving her credentials from the Montessori Western teacher training program. She has an Early Childhood Development and Child Psychology background from Mesa College in San Diego and Long Beach State College in California.

With her extensive background in Montessori, she has been able to help in the classroom as well as direct the Centre’s operations.

Rey Ann lives in Middletown with her husband and daughter.


Kimberley Zeleznik
Lead Teacher

We are very pleased to welcome Ms. Kim back to MCB for her third year.

After graduating from UMass Lowell with a dual degree in Music Education and English, Ms. Kim went on to earn a Masters of Education in Elementary Education at UMass Amherst. She then taught elementary music for six years and worked as a classroom teacher for four years before joining the staff at Montessori Centre. Currently, she is enrolled at the Northeast Montessori Institute in their Early Childhood Certification program.

Ms. Kim lives in Barrington with her husband, two sons, and dog, James. She enjoys spending time with her family as well as running, reading, and gardening.


Stephanie Meier
Co-Teacher

We are pleased to welcome Stephanie Meier to our teaching team as Co-Teacher. Ms. Stephanie grew up in Yarmouth, Maine and has been living in Rhode Island for two years now. In 2006, she graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Family Studies. In addition, she has her Rhode Island teaching certificate. During her time at UNH, Stephanie had the opportunity to study abroad on a cruise ship. She spent four months traveling around the world by ship and airplane, and has visited many of the places we study throughout the school year. Ms. Stephanie is looking forward to teaching our children sign language, among many other subjects.

Stephanie loves to spend time with her fiancé and their dog, and enjoys photography, nature, and collecting sea glass.


Caroline Bergeron
Co-Teacher

Caroline Bergeron grew up in Cape Cod Massachusetts. In 2007 she graduated from Roger Williams University with double majors in Elementary Education and Psychology. This will be her second school year at Montessori Centre of Barrington. In her free time Ms. Caroline likes to paint, sew, read, and spend time with friends and family. She thoroughly enjoys working with students and staff alike at MCB and is looking forward to another great school year.


Nancy Edler
Class Assistant, Spanish Teacher, Substitute

Ms. Nancy has been working as a teacher assistant at MCB since September, 2005, as well as teaching Spanish once per week. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island with majors in Mathematics and Education; she has Life Certification in Math and English for grades 5 through 12. For thirty-one years she taught math and/or English at the Portsmouth Middle School, retiring in 2003. Since joining the staff, she has taken several Montessori day seminars, as well as AMS assistant training at Gordon College in June 2007.

Ms. Nancy lives in Bristol with her husband. She is an avid St. Louis Rams fan and likes crossword puzzles, Sudoku, reading, traveling, and gardening.


Michelle Kaminsky
Music

We are pleased to welcome Ms. Michelle back for her eighth year at Montessori Centre. She has been teaching since 1985, and has taught music in many of Rhode Island’s Montessori schools. She graduated with honors from the National College of Education, and her specialty is early childhood music. In addition, Michelle is currently serving on the Arts and Education Roster with the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts.

In her spare time, she plays in a Cajun band, The Magnolias, and lives in Barrington with her husband.

We are happy that Michelle will be again be enhancing our Montessori environment with her many musical talents.
