Rey Ann Garcia-Mills

Rey Ann has been teaching in and directing Montessori schools for the past 30 years, and has helped open several Montessori programs on both the East and West Coasts. She is American Montessori Society (AMS) trained, receiving her credentials from the Montessori Western teacher training program. She has an Early Childhood Development and Child Psychology background from Mesa College in San Diego and Long Beach State College in California.

Rey Ann lives in Middletown with her husband.


Heather Kiely
Sun Room Lead Teacher, Private Drama Instructor

Ms. Heather earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Shenandoah University.  She has an American Montessori Society credential through New England Montessori Teacher Education Center, and is also taking classes in Early Childhood Education, working toward earning her ECE certificate.  

Heather has been the after school drama instructor here at the Centre since 2010. She started out as a substitute at the Centre and spent the 2010-11 school year as co-teacher of the Toddler classroom.  She is returning for her seventh year at MCB.

She is married and has two wonderful children of her own, who are the light of her life. She is delighted to be here and excited to continue her work with all of the children! We are thrilled to have Ms. Heather as part of our MCB team.


Liza Clemente 
Sun Room Co-Teacher

We are pleased to have Ms. Liza return for her fifth year.  She has been teaching in early childhood education for fifteen years, and received her BA in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology from Rhode Island College.

Her favorite color is blue, and she is excited to work with the children, parents and her fellow teachers.

In her spare time Ms. Liza likes to take walks at Colt State Park, shop, make costume jewelry and bake goodies.


Amanda Janowski
Star Room Lead Teacher

Ms. Amanda is now in her fourth year of teaching at Montessori Centre of Barrington.  With a background in Human Development and Marine Science from Eckerd College, she enjoys incorporating her creative capabilities and scientific interests in her lessons.

Ms. Amanda is also working towards her Early Childhood Certificate and Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Learning from Rhode Island College. She has taken several Montessori workshops, and attended seminars focusing on sensory processing disorders. Ms. Amanda also utilizes her passion for singing, theatre and dance to engage as well as foster the children's love of music and movement.

Ms. Amanda is a native of Massachusetts and lives in Bristol.


Emily Worth

Star Room Assistant Teacher

Ms. Emily earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado with a minor in Elementary Education. After moving to Rhode Island in 2012, Emily began working in the school environment with children of various ages.  She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Development and will graduate in the fall of 2016.

Ms. Emily was born and raised in Colorado and loves skiing, traveling and taking long walks with her husband and goldendoodle named Tucker. 


Niya Graeber
Sun Room Assistant Teacher

Ms. Niya earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Dance, from Roger Williams University.  

Niya has worked as a Behavioral Specialist with children or varying ages and abilities in the home and in schools. In addition she has worked as a camp counselor and child care provider.  She hopes to incorporate her passion for nature, books, and creative movement within the classroom.  Ms. Niya  is currently taking classes in Early Childhood Education. She is excited to be joining Ms. Heather in the Sun  Room and working with the children and families! 

Niya lives with her husband and many pets in Rehoboth, MA. 


Nancy Edler
Substitute / MCB Spanish Teacher

Ms. Nancy has been working as a teacher at MCB since September 2005, as well as teaching Spanish at Montessori Centre. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island with majors in Mathematics and Education; she has Life Certification in Math and English for grades 5 through 12. For thirty-one years she taught math and/or English at the Portsmouth Middle School, retiring in 2003. Since joining the staff, she has taken several Montessori day seminars, as well as AMS assistant training at Gordon College in June 2007.

Ms. Nancy lives in Bristol with her husband. She likes crossword puzzles, Sudoku, reading, traveling, and gardening.


Michelle Kaminsky
Music Teacher

We are pleased to welcome Ms. Michelle back for her fourteenth year at Montessori Centre.  She has been teaching since 1985, and has taught music in many of Rhode Island’s Montessori schools.  She graduated with honors from the National College of Education, and her specialty is early childhood music.  In addition, Michelle is currently serving on the Arts and Education Roster with the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts.

In her spare time, she plays in a Cajun band, The Magnolias, and lives in Barrington with her husband.

We are happy that Michelle will be again be enhancing our Montessori environment with her many musical talents.
